Wheels up

Gorham Bike and Ski owner Jamie Wright, right, recently donated a new Trek Police mountain bicycle to the Kennebunk Police Department to use on its pedal patrols. “It’s a light-weight, rugged and fast bicycle that should last them many years,” said Wright, who donated the bike after seeing how much this department uses them, particularly in the summer. Its community resource officers ride its fleet, consisting of six bikes, daily along the beaches and downtown. The X-Calibur series bike normally sells for $1,300. Pictured with Wright are, from left, Kennebunk Police Lt. Eric O’Brien, Gorham Bike and Ski Kennebunk store Manager Jon Foster; Gorham Bike service technician Sawyer Bickford, Sgt. Darrell Eaton, KPD officer Ashley Desrochers and Wright.
