Luck earns Eagle Scout rank

Casen Luck, 17, from Kennebunk Boy Scout Troop 304, recently achieved Boy Scout’s highest rank, Eagle Scout. Casen’s Eagle Service Project included building and placement of Wood Duck nesting boxes near ponds in Kennebunk’s Blueberry Plains. He worked with the Maine Fish and Wildlife Department’s State Biologist, Scott Lindsay, to locate appropriate placements and set up the Wood Duck boxes and baffles in time for the nesting season. Casen has served two terms as the senior patrol leader of his troop and was voted by his peers the Honor Camper Award at Camp Hinds in Raymond for the week he was at summer camp last year. He plans on attending college following high school to study computer or mechanical engineering and business with hopes to become an entrepreneur. Only about 5 percent of Boy Scouts earn the rank of Eagle Scout. Casen began scouting in the first grade and worked his way through the ranks and program over 11 years. Luck’s Court of Honor took place at his family’s residence in Kennebunk on Aug. 19.
