Lois Day

Lois Krippendorf Day, born in Boston, to the late William P. and Beatrice Donohue, Krippendorf of Swampscott, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Oct. 8.

Lois graduated from St. Chretienne Academy, received her bachelor of arts degree from Rivier College, New Hampshire, and pursued graduate studies at Boston University. She was employed by Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, in the hematology laboratory for over 25 years. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Swampscott and Saint Martha’s Church, Kennebunk.

She was known for her wonderful, joyful spirit, always ready to help others. She welcomed everyone as a friend. Family was very important to her.

Lois is survived by her brother Edward W. Krippendorf of Swampscott, and his wife Patricia, their two daughters, Patricia Krippendorf and Susan Sheehan of Swampscott , a son, Edward W Krippendorf, Jr of Braintree, Massachusetts, and a sister, Sr. Angela (Clare) Krippendorf, osu of Lewiston, also Lois’ niece Karen Mackenzie of Kennebunk, nephew, William Krippendorf, Seabrook, New Hampshire. Grand-nieces and nephews: Kristin and Kaitlin

MacKenzie of Kennebunk, Eddie III, Maggie and Sean Krippendorf of Braintree. Patrick, Brendan, Brigid and Timothy Sheehan of Swampscott.

She was predeceased by both parents, her husband Ralph L. Day, her brother Paul D. Krippendorf and her niece Kristin E. Krippendorf.

A Mass of Christian Burial was to be celebrated at St. Martha’s Church, Kennebunk. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel, Biddeford. To express condolences on line please visit www.hopememorial.com.
