John Swett

John Henry Swett, 72, of Lyman died on Sept. 15, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born Jan. 22, 1945 the son of George and Lucille (Gagne) Swett. He was educated in Kennebunk schools and graduated from Kennebunk High School in 1963.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and he married Elizabeth “Betty” Dixon on Feb. 14, 1970.

John Henry worked for Pillsbury Plumbing and Heating in Kennebunk for several years as a young man. He then established John Henry Swett Well Drilling which he owned and operated in Lyman for many years, still operating today under the ownership of Steven Raymond.

John Henry was a hard worker his entire life and was always known for doing things “his way.”

He loved hunting and fishing in his younger years and had a special place in his heart for the Allagash region. He enjoyed bluegrass music and attended many music festivals. He also loved the agricultural fairs, especially Fryeburg Fair.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Elizabeth Swett of Lyman. Six children: Richard Swett of Oakland, Wendy Swett of Saco, Michael Feliccitti of Lyman, Nicholas Feliccitti of Lyman, Marc Swett of Lyman and Angela Jochum of Lyman, two sisters, Judy Phillips of Tennessee and Theresa Wollett of Florida, and also many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and a large extended family.

A private celebration of life was held by family and friends.
