Her high standards and attention to detail along with her willingness to help others succeed and discover their potential is what made Peterson such an asset to Atria Senior Living as a whole.

She has built many leaders during her years of service and has come to be one of the most respected executive directors in the company. She will be remembered as a pioneer in the senior living industry and a woman who lead by example. Jan maintained Atria Kennebunk for nearly 20 years and did, as all would agree, an outstanding job.

She has connected Atria Kennebunk with the surrounding community, local businesses and town affiliates. In doing so, she has built incredible friendships, partnerships and an everlasting foundation for her building, its employees, and above all its residents.

She leaves a legacy of striving for excellence, maintaining quality enhancement, pride in longevity, following the rules and encompassing a phenomenal vision for her management team and staff. Many corporate figures came to support Peterson at her retirement and all quoted her as being a “strong mentor and friend.”

Several people from the town, health care professionals, current and former employees, residents and their families joined together to send well wishes and a well-deserved farewell to Jan.

The event was organized by Sales Community Director Colleen Levesque, Culinary Director John Caron, Atria Kennebunk’s department managers and surrounding sister community staff. Atria’s main lobby was well decorated, adorned with elegant flowers, gifts, entrees, and a room of people full of gratitude and thanks for a wonderful leader and friend. Special thanks also to pianist Dave Hollis who provided such wonderful entertainment for our event.

Happy Retirement Jan Peterson, with love and respect, your family at Atria Kennebunk and Atria Senior Living.

Amber Wilson is engage life director at Atria Kennebunk.
