You go girls

Evey Litwiller-Farmer (158) and Avery Rossics (229), both of Kennebunkport, sprint down Port Road in Lower Village Kennebunk Sunday at the start of the Kennebunk Beach Classic 5K. Nearly 400 runners and walkers took part in the annual fundraiser for The Center. The event boasted participants from each school in Regional School Unit 21. Right, 85-year-old Miriam D’Alessandro, of Kennebunk, participated and credits yoga at The Center for improved health and ability to participate. Proceeds from the race help The Center provide outreach and programming for senior citizens. Participation increased this year, due in part to the students from RSU21. Race director Rob Spaulding gave each school a shout-out during awards, recognizing runners ages 5 to 85. For more photos, see page 10 and visit the Post Facebook page.
