Food drive assistance is appreciated

To the editor:

Community Outreach Services, which operates the Kennebunk Community Food Pantry, would like to thank all the residents of Kennebunk who participated in the post office’s Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on May 13.

We would also like to thank the carriers and other postal workers who collected and delivered this food.

This year the carriers delivered 2,288.4 pounds of food to our pantry. This is almost 1,000 pounds more than collected last year and one of the biggest collections we have ever had for this drive.

This is a wonderful example of how caring and giving our community is and how lucky we are at Community Outreach to have your support.

So, on behalf of all the people in our community who will benefit from this food drive, thank you again.

Beth Jones, board chairman
Community Outreach Services
