Laura Phinney

Laura Elizabeth Phinney, 92, a resident of Kennebunk, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at her residence.

Laura was born in Boston on Oct. 2, 1924, a daughter of James and Rose (Marlor) Touhy.

Laura was a loving wife, mother and wonderful friend; a stand up Democrat and a phenomenal needlepoint hooker with a wonderful sense of humor throughout her entire life.

She is predeceased by her husband, Gerald R. Phinney, and a son, Peter Phinney, and a brother, Jim Tuohy.

Survivors include her son, Michael A. Phinney of Seattle; daughters Sue Phinney Cohen and her husband Dr. Roger D. Cohen of Milwaukee, Deana M. Phinney of Seattle, and Jane Phinney Fox of Wells; a sister, Rosemary T. Moore of Florida and a sister-in-law, Jan Tuohy of Virginia.

Services are private. The family is planning a Celebration of Life this coming summer.
