Debating at state



Arguing from a docket of 21 topics, including reducing corn subsidies, admitting Syrian refugees and withdrawing from NAFTA, the Kennebunk High School debate team had a strong showing at the Maine State Speech and Debate Championship meet, held Jan. 28, at Brunswick High School, finishing second overall among 12 teams, narrowly missing out to Scarborough High School, 35-31. Cape Elizabeth and Bangor placed third and fourth, respectively.
