Richard Bohaker

Richard Gordon “Dick” Bohaker, Jr., 81, of Kennebunk, formerly of Lynn and Marblehead, Massachusetts, died early Monday morning, Sept. 19, 2016 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford. He was born in Lynn on March 16, 1935, the only child of Richard Gordon Bohaker, Sr., and Eleanor (Reynolds) Bohaker. He grew up in Lynn, where he attended Lynn English High School, then continued on to college, earning his bachelor’s degree in business from Boston University.

Dick was a salesman in the construction industry, retiring to Maine in 2001.

Early in his retirement years, Dick volunteered on various town committees, was an active member of the York County EMA, and served as deputy director of Kennebunk

EMA. He was a Mason, and was active in the Aleppo Shrine, particularly in the fire brigade division. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and collecting fire department memorabilia.

He is predeceased by his son, Stephen R. Bohaker.

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Cynthia Bohaker of Kennebunk; three daughters, Susan B. Brusberg of Sparta, New Jersey, Linda A. Bohaker of Kyoto, Japan, Diane E. Vanderburgh and husband Gregg of Phoenix; five grandchildren, Christopher Brusberg and wife Lauren of Millbrook, New York, Brittany and Brenden Brusberg of Sparta, New Jersey, Jake and Isabella Vanderburgh of Phoenix. Dick is also survived by Todd Brusberg.

Services are private.
