KLPD trustee candidate

To the editor:

I am writing to voice my support of Daniel Bartilucci who is running as a candidate for the Kennebunk Light and Power District Board of Trustees.

Dan is now retired after a successful award-winning career in the broadcast communications industry. In that medium, he learned that you first had to carefully listen, do your research to get the facts, ask the right questions of your sources, keep digging until you get it right, and only then do you reach out to the viewers, your constituents, with the correct and verified information.

Those skills first learned and then honed during that 40- year career put Dan now at the right time and place to directly benefit both the board of trustees and the citizens of Kennebunk.

All of us in the parts of Kennebunk that are fortunate to be served by KLPD instead of Central Maine Power have always taken great pride in our KLPD. It has always been served by outstanding workers who have made the reliability of service its hallmark. Continuing efficiencies by previous boards have resulted in lower monthly electric bills than our friends in neighboring towns are receiving from their CMP provider.

Things have changed though during the past year. From KLPD’s new leadership and new administration, we’re seeing a series of errors of miscalculation and disinformation, now coupled with a growing lack of openness and the turning of a deaf ear to the serious concerns being raised by a growing number of our citizens. Increasingly, it appears that outsized consideration is being given to the out-of-town interest groups and their agenda.

I believe it’s time for a new voice on the KLPD Board of Trustees. Please consider voting for Daniel Bartilucci as our newest trustee on the KLPD Board. If we elect him on June 14, Dan will prove himself to be, a trustee you can trust to do the work.
