Donna Wilhelm

Donna Joy Wilhelm, 72, who recently moved from Kennebunk, Maine to Davenport, Florida, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016.

Donna was born July 16, 1943 in Panama City, Florida, the daughter of Paul Sheldon and A. Joyce Curry. On Dec. 8, 1944 when Donna was 16 months old, her father was killed during flight training, while serving in the U.S. Air Force. When Donna was 13 years old her mother married Paul A. Burnham. Paul fulfilled the role of a father for Donna.

She graduated from Lawrence High School in Massachusetts in 1961. Donna went on to attend college for 15 years, including years at Colby College in Maine and four years at a Boston area college. Her career included working at Massachusetts General Hospital alongside a doctor doing counseling with severe drug addicts.

Donna married her husband Frank Wilhelm on April 18, 1975. They were married for 40 years.

Wherever Donna was, she found great joy in serving her God in the churches she belonged to. Donna was a real prayer warrior. She and Frank were presently attending the Gospel Community Church in Davenport, Florida.

Donna is predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband Frank and longtime friends that are family, the Davis’. Donna will be greatly missed by all whose lives she has touched.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at at Greenwood Cemetery in Biddeford.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Gospel Community Church, P.O. Box 624, Davenport, FL 33836 will be welcomed in Donna’s memory.
