George Geyerhahn

George R. Geyerhahn, 72, of Kennebunkport, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2016 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. Born on Dec. 21, 1943 to the late Dr. George and Virginia Geyerhahn, George was a graduate of South Portland High School and Rochester Institute of Technology where he received a bachelor of science degree in photography and a master of science degree in instructional design. He also earned a master of science degree in adult education from the University of Southern Maine.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy, who he married Sept. 4, 1999; his sons, Benjamin Geyerhahn and wife Bianca, and Jed Geyerhahn; his grandchildren Vivienne, Grant, Zoe and Rhys; his brother Gordon Geyerhahn and wife Barbara; his stepmother Nona Geyerhahn; his stepdaughter Val O’Hearn and stepson Keith O’Hearn, his wife Kate and daughter Quinlynn.

George traveled extensively as a technical writing consultant for PwC and continued his career with IBM Global Business Services until his retirement in 2010. Prior to becoming a consultant, George worked as a television news cameraman and a hospital medical photographer. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1967 to 1971.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on May 21, 2016 at 9 a.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk.
