Library plans school vacation schedule

Kennebunk Free Library will offer programs for children and families during school vacation week.

Because school is not in session, the Legos Club will meet at an earlier time on Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 10 a.m. Children in kindergarten and older are invited to attend. Preregistration is required by calling 985-2173.

On Thursday, Dec. 31 at 10 a.m., children in kindergarten through second grade are invited to create shakers and party hats to help ring in the New Year. Younger children may do better with a helper. So that enough supplies are prepared, preregistration is required by calling 985-2173.

The library will offer Family Yoga on Dec. 31 at 1:30 p.m. for ages 4 and older. Never tried yoga before? Now is the time to introduce something new, renewing a commitment to good health, family and community. Consider joining Susan Mirisola, registered yoga teacher, for a program that includes deep breathing for calming and focusing the mind and body, individual poses for stretching and strengthening the spine, partner and group poses for fun and connection.

The session will close with a resting pose snuggled under a warm blanket, listening to gentle music to relax and rejuvenate. Bring a blanket and a yoga mat. No experience is necessary. Space is limited. Preregistration and a waiver for each participant is required.

All events are free and require preregistration. For more information or to pre-register, call 985-2173 or visit the website www.kennebunklibrary.org.
