Draw down

The Mousam River is seen on Thursday, Nov. 5, with its water level lowered to what it is expected to look like just above the Kesselen Dam should the dam be removed. The Kennebunk Light and Power District lowered the water level to test sediments in the riverbed and to try and determine whether it should pursue federal relicensing of the dam. A study into the district’s options, now available on its website (www.klpd.org), will be the topic of a public meeting, to be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, in the town hall auditorium.
