Should I Go It Alone?

Maybe I should talk to someone? Many people have struggles in life and find themselves debating “Shouldn’t I be able to handle this by myself?” If you find that your struggles are getting in the way of your life, that you seem to be spending a lot of time trying to “fix” things or “overanalyze”, or spend a lot of time trying not to have certain thoughts, feelings or physical sensations (physical pain, anxiety, fear, anger, sadness, bad memories, poor self-image) it could be helpful to talk to someone.

My goal is to help individuals become more present in their lives and actively engaged in their valued pursuits. Working together, we will identify and address the barriers that keep you from moving forward and experiencing a full life, satisfying relationships, and realizing your educational, occupational, or athletic potential.

I use treatment methods that have been researched and proven to be effective and practice acceptance-based behavioral therapy which means I help clients use mindfulness and other acceptance-based strategies and exercises to decrease the distress caused by painful thoughts, emotions, memories and physical sensations and improve their quality of life.
