Val Cliche

Val M. Cliche, 92, a resident of River Road, died April 21, 2015 at the Kennebunk Center for Health and Rehabilitation.

Val was born in Vallée-Jonction, Quebec, Canada on Aug. 8, 1922, a son of Valere and Blanche (Faucher) Cliche.

He was a graduate of Wells High School, class of 1940. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and served in the 82nd Airborne Division 507 PI during WWII.

Upon his discharge, he owned and operated Val Cliche Builders in Kennebunkport where he served the surrounding communities from 1952 to 1987.

Val was a member of Holy Spirit Parish St. Martha’s Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was predeceased by a brother, Donald Cliché, and a sister, Marie Cliche.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Therese (Turcotte) Cliche of Arundel; a son, John Cliche of Arundel; a daughter

Louise Cliche of Woodland Hills, UT; 3 grandchildren, Jared Cliche, Tregg Cliche and Amber Emerson and 3 great-grandchildren, Garrett and Carter Cliche and Spencer Thiboutot and niece Claire Thibodeau of Quebec, Canada.

There are no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
