Emergency services chief begins duties


John Brady John Brady Monday, March 16 marked the first day on duty for John Brady, the new chief of Emergency Medical Services for the Kennebunk Fire Department.

Brady, of Biddeford, comes to Kennebunk from the Portland Fire Department, where he had been in charge of all EMS training and education since 2004. Brady, a paramedic since 1985, is a certified instructor with both Maine EMS and the American Heart Association, as well as an adjunct instructor at Southern Maine Community College. He is also the municipal representative to Maine EMS’ education committee.

According to Kennebunk Finance Director Joel Downs, Brady’s annual salary is $67,999, on par (a difference of just $30) with what was paid to his predecessor.
