Arundel tree lighting celebration, 5:40 to 8 p.m., Arundel Fire Station, Limerick Road, Arundel. Throughout the evening there will be kids’ crafts, face-painting, Christmas kids’ tattoos, popcorn, cookies and hot cocoa. The event is held outdoors until the photos with Santa begin. Shuttle service between Mildred L. Day School and fire station begins at 5:40 p.m. Pick-up and drop off locations will be on the sidewalk in front of the main office and on Mountain Road next to Community Tree. (Last shuttle back to school will be 8 p.m. Schedule: 5:50 p.m.: Little Melodies Band begins.; 6 p.m.: Mildred L. Day School carolers; 6:15 to 6:45 p.m.: Little Melodies Band continues; 6:30 to 8 p.m.: horse-drawn wagon rides with Rockin’ Horse Stables begins in town hall parking lot; 6:45 p.m.: community sing-along to welcome Santa Claus as he arrives on a fire truck to light the tree; 6:50 to finish: free photo and visit with Santa for each child; and 8 p.m.: lLast shuttle ride back to school. All tree lighting festivities are free to the Arundel community.

Year-round program includes finger plays, songs and crafts. Designed for children 5 and younger, however, all ages welcome to attend. Parents, caregivers encouraged to participate.
