Land Trust to join in Giving Tuesday

Kennebunk Land Trust will take part in Giving Tuesday.

Giving Tuesday is an effort to harness generosity and re-direct consumer spending as we approach the holiday season.

“The most meaningful gift we can give our children, loved ones, friends and neighbors is the commitment to work together to help build a better world,” said Kathy Calvin, CEO of the UN Foundation.

Giving Tuesday is a call to action to ordinary people to come together to accomplish extraordinary things, to put personal philanthropy into family conversation, to understand that every gift – no matter the size – is a commitment to the greater good.

At Kennebunk Land Trust the mission is to permanently conserve and steward land to benefit natural and human communities. Many of the trust’s properties are open to the public to enjoy at no cost. In all seasons, the preserves offer visitors and residents the chance to be outdoors and appreciate fresh air and activity.

Kennebunk Land Trust encourages each and every resident to participate in the third annual Giving Tuesday on Dec. 2. Whether the choice is Kennebunk Land Trust or another worthy local nonprofit, the trust hopes residents will feel inspired to be a part of the international movement to support local communities.

Last year more than 10,000 organizations in 46 countries came together to celebrate generosity, including Kennebunk Land Trust.
