Saturday in the park

Members of Portside Rotary Club of Kennebunkport stand by the new sign for the rededicated municipal park on Beachwood Road Saturday, Oct. 18. The club was instrumental in renovating the facility, including resurfacing the parking lot, weed control, resurfacing and repainting the tennis and basketball courts and other upgrades, including the granite monument. Right, Portside Rotarians Peggy Belanger and Bill Junker prepare the hot dog steamer for Saturday’s rededication of the facility formerly known as Beachwood Park. Members of Rotary have been volunteering to beautify the park for the past four years. Dedicating the park was a gesture extended from the town to show its thanks, said Carol Cook, parks and recreation director for Kennebunkport.
