Candidate is advocate for poor, homeless

To the editor:

At a time when those in genuine need are being dismissed, there is one consistent advocate for the poor and the homeless who would be a welcome addition to the Maine State Legislature: Diane Denk, Democratic candidate for House District 9 (Kennebunkport and parts of Kennebunk and Biddeford).

Diane and her husband Roger Hansen deliver food to the York County Shelter’s food pantry, hold annual turkey drives each Thanksgiving, and have been major fundraisers for the Shelter. She was awarded a medal as top fundraiser for their Walk to End Homelessness. Diane has also organized clothing and gift drives and participated in bottle drives for the benefit of the Shelter.

We need legislators who don’t just talk the talk but who actually walk the walk. That person is Diane Denk. We hope you will vote for her on Nov. 4.
