Pasco Lecture Series continues Oct. 19

Graves Memorial Library’s Pasco Lecture Series continues with Sandy Martin and “Paddling Against the Tide” at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19.

Martin grew up in Vermont in the late 1940s and ‘50s. Being a small state with very snowy winters, Vermont residents are fortunate enough to make a living in the ski and/or tourism industries. Martin, being the entrepreneur that he is, started his own ski boot polishing service for visitors at the age of 10.

It was at that time his interests in fiberglass products began. Fast forward a few decades, and Lincoln Canoe was the perfect place for him to hang his hat until his retirement in 2009.

Come listen to Martin’s story of working at Lincoln Canoe and then becoming the owner many years later. Refreshments will be served following the lecture. Louis T. Graves Memorial Public Library is located at 18 Maine St. in Kennebunkport.

The series is sponsored by the Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation and Kennebunk Savings Bank (and the library’s very own snack team).
