Sallie Turner

Sallie Anne (Jones) Turner 78, a resident of Orrin’s Way Kennebunk, formerly of North Kingston, Rhode Island, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford after a brief illness.

She was born in Arundel on Feb. 21, 1936, a daughter of Arthur and Mildred (Howard) Jones, and graduated from Kennebunk High School.

After high school, she married Edward L. Turner and moved to Rhode Island.

She worked as seamstress at the Health Tex in Central Falls, Rhode Island for more than 10 years. In 2013, she moved to Kennebunk to be closer to her family. She was member of the Seabee Auxiliary in Quonset, Rhode Island.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward L. Turner, who died on May 4, 2014.

She is survived by her three sons, Lindsay Turner and Gary Turner, both of West Greenwich, Rhode Island, Tim Turner of Griswold, Connecticut, and a beloved daughter, Michelle Towne, of Kennebunk; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the Turner family.
