Monthly parenting class scheduled at library

Monthly parenting classes led by Stevie Westmoreland return to Kennebunk Free Library at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5. Future classes will be held on the first Friday of every month at the library. Each month, a new topic will be addressed.

Besides being a parent and grandparent herself, Westmoreland has been in private practice as a licensed clinical professional counselor and licensed marriage and family therapist for 30 years. The class offers an opportunity for parents, grandparents and caregivers to gather to share the joys and challenges of parenthood. Skills developed will focus on identifying and understanding a child’s four basic feelings, calming ourselves down and the positive effect of mirror neurons with a child.

The event is free, wheelchair accessible and open to all. Kennebunk Free Library is located at 112 Main St., Kennebunk.
