Art Guild exhibition is scheduled July 25-27

(Courtesy photo) Representing more than 85 juried area artists, Art Guild of the Kennebunks will present its July exhibition on Friday, July 25 through Sunday, July 27.

The exhibition will be held at the Kennebunkport Community House on Temple Street, across from the Kennebunkport Post Office. The opening reception will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 25. The exhibition hours will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 25. On Saturday and Sunday, July 26 and 27, the exhibition will be on view from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The public is invited and admission is free.

The July exhibition will be judged by children’s book illustrator, Wade Zahares. Zahares works exclusively in large pastels he creates in his shed with 15-foot high ceilings in Lyman. He has illustrated six children’s books. Both Time Magazine and The New York Times called his first book one of the best picture books of 1998.

The Art Guild of the Kennebunks has scheduled one final exhibition for the season at the Community House in August. The August annual awards exhibition will run from Aug. 22 to Aug. 24. At the end of the exhibit, the winner of art guild scholarship raffle will be drawn.

The Art Guild of the Kennebunks is an organization of professional artists juried for admission. Annual jurying for acceptance will be held again in the spring of 2015.
