Solo show scheduled for The Hive on Saturday, July 12

Rob Duquette Rob Duquette Rob Duquette, who will be traveling back home from a show at Club Passim in Cambridge, Massachusetts, will perform a solo show 8 p.m. Saturday, July 12 at the Hive in Kennebunk.

Duquette is no stranger to Kennebunk as a performer and a music educator. He will accompany himself on guitar, percussion and piano, performing original material, some of which is on his group’s CD “duquette – this time.”

A multiinstrumentalist, Duquette has been entertaining audiences of all ages for more than 25 years. As a founding member of Cactus Highway, his original music traveled the world. He toured nationally in support of their debut CD – which New York City’s Village Voice called, “Amazing.”

He is an active performer and a freelance musician, performing all styles of music and holds a master’s degree in jazz studies and teaches world music and African drumming at the University of New England. His children’s music has made its way around the country.

Duquette has two new CDs out, a children’s CD called “Love is Contagious and a grown-up CD called “This Time,” both can be heard at www.robduquette.com.
