Marjorie Amirault

Marjorie S. Amirault, 82, of Webber Hill Road, passed away Monday, April 7, 2014 at Huntington Common in Kennebunk, where she had resided since Dec. 1, 2008.

She was born July 4, 1931, in Portland; the daughter of Edith Coombs Stevens and Rufus S. Stevens.

Marjorie grew up in Kennebunk and Wilmington, Mass; she graduated from Wilmington High School in 1949. She also attended Nasson College in Springvale.

She married Richard Amirault in 1958. She loved spending time with Dick and her close friends. She loved reading, raising raspberries, spending time on the beach and she loved her many cats. She and Dick also enjoyed spending many months each year at their home in Palm Harbor, Fla.

Marjorie had a true love affair with the state of Maine; she commuted from Maine to Massachusetts daily for her job. One of her happiest days of her life is when she and Dick moved to Maine permanently.

She was employed by American Mutual Insurance Co., and United Shoe Manufacturing Company in Beverly, Mass. Later she was employed at Ocean National Bank and Kennebunk Savings, from where she retired.

She was predeceased, by her husband, Dick, her parents, grandparents, brother, Rufus, infant sister, Elizabeth and sister, Jean Stevens Kolseth.

Marjorie is survived by her sister, Virginia Stevens Malone of Rye, N.H.; many nieces and nephews, and her dear friend, Vonnie Welch of Kennebunk.

A graveside service will be held at Hope Cemetery on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Pat Smith officiating.

Arrangements are by Bibber Memorial Chapel, Kennebunk.
