Holy Week events

Messiah Christian Church will offer a series of different Holy Week events. On Wednesday, April 16 at 6:30 p.m., the church will host Stations of the Cross. Participants can journey through the interactive stations and experience the crucifi xion of Jesus through pounding the nails in wood, tasting vinegar and casting lots. On Thursday, April 17 and Friday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m., the church will host a Living Last Supper, played by 13 actors. Participants will be taken to the upper room and watch as the disciples and Jesus step out of the painting and come to life. Each actor is dressed and made up to imitate the real-life disciple. The Passover table is disrupted as the 12 disciples react to Christ’s warning. On Saturday, April 19 at 9:30 a.m., Messiah Christian Church will host its giant community wide Easter egg hunt. The event will feature a bounce house, activities and candy. Children of all ages welcome. To conclude the week, on Sunday, April 20, the church will celebrate Jesus’ resurrection with Easter Sunday service at 9:30 a.m. The service will feature music and presentation by the combined adult and youth drama teams. An Easter breakfast will follow the service.
