Amber Strickland

Amber J. Strickland, 24, the youngest daughter of Paul and Mary Jane (Truman) Strickland passed unexpectedly on Sunday, Jan. 26 in Bath.

She was born in Biddeford June 8, 1989 and is a graduate of Thornton Academy, class of 2007.

Amber began her welding career with Cianbro Corp. traveling throughout Maine and to West Virginia for several years. For the past three years she proudly worked at Bath Iron Works where she earned her first-class welding certificate.

She loved hunting, fishing, hiking and felt most at peace being in nature. She grabbed life by the horns and the ripples she has left will leave lifelong memories by the many people her life has touched.

She loved her sister, Libby, and has struggled with her loss since 2011. One always knew where you stood with Amber and if not she’d let you know. She loved deeply so many and especially her shelter cat Marko, whom she referred to as her child.

Amber is predeceased by her sister Mary Elizabeth (Libby) Strickland.

She leaves behind her parents of Arundel and her sister Brandy Bourassa of Wells as well as her loving uncles, aunts and cousins.

A memorial service as held Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Messiah Christian Church in Wells with Pastor Dan Moore officiating. Interment will be in the spring at Hope Cemetery in Kennebunk.

Be kind and pay it forward in our daughters’ memories.

Arrangements care of Bibber Memorial Chapel, Kennebunk.
