Soup’s on

Robert Stetson, above, accepts a hot cup of spiced sweet potato, pomegranate, turkey chutney and cranberry cotton candy soup from Brian O’Hea of the Academe at Kennebunk Inn on Saturday at the annual soup tasting at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Soup flavors included sausage tortellini from Sebago Brewing Company, shrimp and lobster bisque with fingerling potatoes from Duffy’s Tavern and Grill, and shrimp and corn chowder (right) from Cheryl’s Sandwich Shoppe. The event was part of Kennebunk’s Winter Festival and 180 participants sampled 10 soups before casting their votes. The winner, determined Saturday afternoon, was the Village Tavern’s Late Harvest Chowder — pumpkin, sweet potato, corn and roasted native seafood.
