Edmund Robinson Sr.

Edmund Donald “Sandy” Robinson, Sr., 76, of West Kennebunk, died Saturday afternoon, Jan. 18, 2014, at Southridge Rehabilitation and Living Center in Biddeford. He was born in Sanford on June 23, 1937, the son of George Robinson and Alice Gene (Shuffleburg) Robinson.

Sandy was a long-haul trucker for most of his career. Before retiring, he worked as a truck driver for the Town of Kennebunk.

In younger years, he was a member of several snowmobiling clubs. He enjoyed his animals, farm living, and dancing. Sandy was always willing to tackle a project, no matter what the result. His favorite saying was “That’s not broke, it can be fixed!”

He is survived by his son, Edmund D. “Skip” Robinson, Jr., of West Kennebunk; two daughters, Alice Piper of Kennebunk and Laurie Robinson of New York; two step daughters, Barbara Cook of Kennebunk and Tina Cook of Texas; nine grandchildren, Melinda, Matthew, Dama, Violet, Elizabeth, Catalina, Keltsi, Chandra, and Charli; five great-grandchildren, Sadie, John, Savanna, Krysta, and Caven.

Calling hours were to be held on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, with family and friends invited to share stories and remembrances at 6:30 p.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel in Kennebunk.

Burial in the spring will be private. Should one choose, memorial donations in his memory may be made to: Alzheimer’s Association – Maine Chapter, 383 U.S. Route 1, Suite 2C, Scarborough, ME 04074. Arrangements are in care of Bibber Memorial Chapel.
