Ruth Mae Mullarky

Ruth Mae Mullarky, 87, resident of Kennebunkport, died Saturday Dec. 21, 2013, after a short illness. She was the widow of Robert G. Mullarky.

Born in 1926, the daughter of Raymond and Marjorie (Lake) MacAusland, she graduated from Lesley College and worked as an elementary school teacher and school principal primarily in Wilmington, Mass., for her professional career.

She pursued an active and busy retirement and thoroughly enjoyed her time with friends, peers and family. Her outgoing social style and curiosity with life kept her vibrant and content with all challenges and opportunities.

She is survived by her three sons, Kevin Mullarky of Kennebunkport; Dana Mullarky of Methuen, Mass.; Peter Mullarky of Wilmington, Mass.; along with their respective wives Terry, Penny and Joan. She has three lovely grandchildren, Ryan, Dylan and Meagan.

She has an abundance of treasured friendships and peers that she has maintained since she was a young woman, as well as those that she established later in her life. She will be missed by many.

A memorial service was held at Nichols Funeral Home in Wilmington, Mass., Saturday, Jan. 11.

A service to celebrate her life will be held locally in Kennebunkport/ Kennebunk in mid-January 2014. Details will be available through Hobbs Funeral Home, Scarborough at a later date.
