American Girl Book Club to hold meeting

Children in grades two through five are invited to Kennebunk Free Library to re-live history through a new program featuring children of the American Girl historical series.

The first meeting will be 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20 and will meet on alternate Wednesdays until Dec. 18.

The first book to be discussed will be “Meet Felicity” by Valerie Tripp. The library will have extra copies of the book available to read ahead of time.

History will come alive as children make pomander balls and learn the reasons they were so valued in colonial times. Group members will have input on the direction the group takes in the future.

Preregistration is required, as space is limited. Dolls are welcome to attend with their owners. To register, call 985-2173, ext. 5 or email ys@kennebunk.lib.me.us.

The event is free and wheelchair accessible. Kennebunk Free Library is located at 112 Main St., Kennebunk. For more information, call 985-2173 or visit www.kennebunklibrary.org.
