Chief Barry Dana of the Penobscot Nation led a celebration powwow at Sea Road School on Friday, Nov. 1. Dana served as artist-in-residence for Sea Road’s Native American studies week, preceding the powwow. Students displayed dances they had learned from Dana. After the powwow, parents and guests walked the halls, which were lined with students’ projects on different aspects of Native American culture.The powwow concluded the students’ week of Native American studies.
