Wicked fun road race




Dan and Jenny Cumpelik of Kennebunk (above) cross the finish line Sunday during the Wicked 5K road race in Kennebunkport. Finishing right behind the Cumpeliks was Joan Crocker of Falmouth. They were three of the nearly 175 participants in the event hosted by the Nonantum Resort. The race benificiary for 2013 was The Center for Grieving Children. At right, participants dressed as Ninja Turtles complete the race. Nicholas Chmura of Brooklyn, N.Y., took first place with a time of 21:22. Allyson Koenig of Saco was first among women and second overall in 21:54. The top local finisher was Kennebunk’s Larry Mathews, fourth with a time of 22:26.
