High school to honor vets at football game

The Kennebunk High School football team will host Armed Forces Night at Memorial Stadium at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 when the Rams take on Greely.

This is a night designed to recognize current and former soldiers.

Student-athletes and the community will have an opportunity to recognize individuals for the sacrifices they make for the country.

Regional School Unit 21 has invited all veterans to attend Armed Forces Night and be recognized for their service.

Each member in attendance will be recognized on the field at halftime of the football game. Any person with a military ID will gain entrance to the game free of charge.

Also, there will be drop boxes placed at the gates of the stadium to collect much-needed supplies for the Veteran’s Administration. Items needed are: deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, body wash, toiletries, etc.

The community is invited to join Kennebunk High School to honor the veterans. Fans are encouraged to wear camouflage or red, white and blue to show their support for our veterans and troops.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
